At the end of “Kerloch” country lane, is a breathtaking landscape with a sprawling country house, waiting for a second chance at love.

And love is exactly what Dani poured into this farmhouse.

The plan was to give it a modern look, but to also retain the original character and architectural features.  Dani says that “it was supposed to be a makeover, but turned into a full interior renovation. It took us just under 12 months from planning to completion”.

Keeping to her word, Dani kept the original ceiling timber beams, which at the time were only down one side of the house. To maintain a seamless flow throughout, Dani sourced almost identical beams and had her painter colour match the stain to the original. The existing fireplaces (yes, multiple), wall panelling, brick features, doors and windows, were treated and repainted. Dani says she still wanted to be “respectful to its original design aesthetic”.

Black and white colour tones with gold accents are used throughout the main living quarters. These colours paired well with the original brass window and door hardware. It would be criminal for her to replace them, so instead they were given a deep clean and polish and brought back to life.

Softer colour tones were used in the bedrooms and bathrooms to give it a more peaceful and cosier vibe. Keeping the rooms minimal of colour allowed them to tie in with the natural hues from the outdoor scenery.

The pool area was fully renovated to a resort style outdoor living, with a cabana and wet bar. A newly built outdoor kitchen with a wood fire pizza oven, large rotisserie and BBQ for outdoor entertaining. Looking down from the pool is a fully refurbished standard sized tennis court.

Dani’s inspiration not only came from her natural creative flair, but also from her loved ones. She says, “We’ve achieved a perfect home to gather with family and friends, all the spaces are well connected and it’s so luxurious and sophisticated you don’t want to leave”.
