5 Reasons To Visit Vaucluse

From delicious eats and luxury pampering to historic houses & beach club parties; this suburb has it all!

Our move to Vaucluse has only increased my love for this Eastern Suburbs haven. Here’s some of the many reasons why…

1. Eat & treat yourself at The Botanica

This restaurant is set in the most beautiful  lush gardens; you wouldn’t even know you were in the city.

Obviously it looks amazing, and the dining experience is divine, but the main thing I love about Botanica is it’s a farm to table restaurant. The dishes are made from sustainable, local growers and many of the ingredients are actually grown on their farm just two hours out of Sydney. It doesn’t get fresher than that!

And after you’ve had your lunch, you can wander over to their day spa for a massage or treatment. Just spend one day hanging out here and you’ll feel like you’ve been on a week-long holiday – amazing.

2. Visit the historic Dunbar House

Dunbar House was built in the 1830s and is one of the oldest standing structures in the whole country. It’s a popular spot for weddings and events, but it’s lovely just to visit and soak up the architecture.

While you’re there, stop for breakfast or lunch with a view of Sydney Harbour. If you make it at lunch time, you have to try the tempura zucchini flowers!

3. Party at the Watson’s Bay Hotel

If you’re just visiting in Vaucluse this hotel is the perfect spot to base yourself from. You’ll get full coastal vibes and plenty of things to do close by.

Otherwise, whether you’re visiting or a local, you can pop down to their Beach Club anytime. It’s inspired by yacht clubs and Summer in Europe – can you see why I like it so much?

You’ll find super fresh seafood, flowing cocktails and lots of great photo opportunities. These guys also hold lots of events throughout the year, so there’s always something new to try!

4. Enjoy high tea at Vaucluse House

Vaucluse House is another beautiful spot to soak in some history. It’s a 19th century mansion that’s been restored and turned into a museum. I have so much appreciation for the work that’s gone into curating the interiors, it’s absolutely stunning.

My second favourite thing about Vaucluse House is their High Tea; you have to try it. Everything is made with seasonal produce and some is even freshly hand-picked from the Vaucluse gardens.

Yum!
